Kory Supports Evans for School Board

Dear Friends,

You have all supported me through my journey to become your Delegate.  I know it was not easy and, at times, it was even difficult. But together we won!  Thank you.

With my being elected to the VA House of Delegates, the Fairfax County School Board will, of course, have a vacancy.  I am supporting Sandy Evans to succeed me as Mason District School Board member. And I hope you will also. Continue reading Kory Supports Evans for School Board

FCDC Endorses Evans for School Board

Sandy Evans
Sandy Evans

Congratulations to Sandy Evans (www.Evans4SB.org) on her endorsement for the Mason District School Board seat! After a 5-hour caucus Monday night at the Mason District Government Center, the MDDC recommended endorsing Sandy Evans for the Mason District School Board. The seat is being vacated by current Mason District School Board Member Kaye Kory, who won her bid for House of Delegates (38th District) in November.

Thanks to all who participated in the process. We all should be proud of what we accomplished and how it was conducted. A class act and job well done by all.

Sandy commended Herb Smith, who had also sought the Democratic endorsement, for his work with special needs students, his work for the Obama and Werkheiser campaigns and for his graciousness throughout the endorsement process.

In a note to the members of the MDDC, Herb Smith expressed his “gratitude and appreciation” for supporters on both sides and pledged his support for her campaign. He asked his supporters to do the same.

No date has yet been set for the special election.

The campaign needs you to get involved: first-timers, new committee members, and veterans of past campaigns are all welcome to contribute their time to make sure that Mason District continues moving forward. This race is critical for Fairfax County. Volunteer to put up signs, make phone calls, host an event, or work the polls on election day.
