Lamb for Soil and Water Director Kick Off. George Lamb for Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District (NVSWCD) Director. NVSWCD (http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/nvswcd/) is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. Three directors are elected in a general election every four years, and two, including a Virginia Cooperative Extension agent serving Fairfax County, are appointed by the Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Board.

George is currently one of our two* FCDC endorsed NVSWCD Directors, currently serving the remainder of the board term left by the death of Sally B. Ormsby (endorsed by FCDC) who passed away September 15, 2008.

* The other NVSWCD FCDC endorsed Director is Johna Good Gagnon, who is also running for re-election.

FCDC and GMU Democrats 2011 Precinct Operations Retreat

Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC) and George Mason University Democrats 2011 Precinct Operations Retreat Sunday June 5, 2011 noon-4 pm at the George Mason University, Johnson Center Cinema. To RSVP, click here.

The precinct is the basic building block for all elections and getting volunteers connected and talking to their neighbors is the most effective way to increase turn out and win elections. This retreat will teach volunteers how to organize their precincts, recruit and manage other volunteers, talk to their neighbors and get them out to vote.
