Day to Serve, Hidden Oaks Nature Center Park Cleanup

The Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC), is sponsoring a park clean-up as its National Day to Serve project. We will start at Hidden Oaks, along the proposed Annandale Greenway, to the Manassas Gap Railway Historic Park, ending at the new Pop-Up Park, behind the ACCA Child Development Center, 7200 Columbia Pike, next to the fire station. The Fairfax County Park Authority is providing the bags, gloves, permits, and trash bag removal.
At the last stop, the Soul Rebel food truck (Kofi Annan’s enterprise) will meet us and we have invited our local elected officials including Supervisors Penny Gross and James Walkinshaw, and – of course, because it is close to the Cross-Country Trail – Congressman Gerry Connolly, who will join us at some point, schedules permitting.
This September 11th is the twentieth anniversary of the day when many of us lost friends and colleagues here, in New York, or Pennsylvania. Let’s be together that day, doing good, to honor their sacrifice.
