First, I want to thank everyone who volunteered in the primary, especially on the few wet and cold days. I touched base with William Brown and he expressed his most sincere gratitude, recognizing that this is a team effort.
Seeing the results from the primaries, we know that the choice in November is between a Biden and Trump presidency. This week’s State of the Union address serves as a reminder that what’s in the ballot is a choice between two distinct visions for our country’s future—a choice that demands our action, engagement, and commitment to mobilizing every segment of our base. A review of the primary turnout reveals that Republicans were more active than Democrats. While we can probably understand why, we can’t have a repeat of 2016 when our fellow democrats did not show up at the polls.
The urgency of now cannot be overstated. It is imperative that we talk to our friends and neighbors, starting today, about the importance of the election this November. We also need to step up our game and ensure that Mason District comes out in full strength for the Democrats so we can keep Virginia blue.
